Sheriff Lamb Suffers Family Tragedy-Updated

Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb and his family are suffering a terrible loss. On Friday, his 22 year old son, Cooper Lamb, and infant granddaughter were killed and the mother of the child was critically injured in a car crash in Gilbert, AZ.
UPDATE: The young woman in the crash has also passed away.
Police say a truck was traveling westbound when it T-boned a red passenger car traveling eastbound as it made a left-hand turn to go north on Cole Drive.
When emergency crews arrived, they attempted life-saving measures on the three occupants of the red passenger car.
Police say that 22-year-old Cooper Lamb and an infant passenger were pronounced deceased on the scene. The female driver of the car was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Gilbert Police Department released the following statement:
“It is with heartfelt sadness to report the identity of the 22-year-old male in yesterday’s fatal collision on Elliot and Cole to be that of Cooper Lamb, Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb’s son, and his infant grandchild— both passengers of the vehicle.”
Sheriff Lamb is a well-know personality with many TV show appearances and an active Instagram and Facebook account. He was elected in 2016 and ran unopposed in 2020. Cooper Lamb had a rocky adolescence and was just beginning a new start with his baby and fiancé.
Many county Republicans and elected officials registered their collective grief for the Sheriff and his family, commenting on social media on the accident.
