SaddleBrooke gets new Legislative Representative

VIA PINALCENTRAL :

SaddleBrooke residents who vote in Arizona are members of Legislative District 11. The current representatives are Mark Finchem and Brett Roberts. Roberts, resigned his seat effective November 1st. The Pinal county Board of Supervisors upon the recommendation of the Republican Party, nominated 3 people to replace Roberts. Yesterday, the Board voted to approve Teresa Martinez of Casa Grande to fill the 1 year remaining in the Robert’s term.

Martinez is a long-time aide to Congressman Paul Gosar and is expected to remain in that role while representing the SaddleBrooke-Casa Grande areas. Her seatmate, Mark Finchem, has filed to run for Arizona Secretary of State, in 2022.

Residents of LD8, which includes SaddleBrooke Ranch and Oracle will now be represented by Neal Carter of San Tan Valley. Carter, a lawyer and professional document translator ran unsuccessfully for LD8 in 2000.

Both new representatives will have to run in 2020 to remain in the legislature.
