If you live here all year around count yourself lucky. La Hacienda restaurant is open all summer with shorter lines, but the same great food. The Sonoran style Mexican food is tasty, colorful, and fresh!
For starters, the freshly made tortilla chips with house salsa dip, is an outstanding way to take the edge off while perusing the menu.
The La Hacienda Tostada is a great meal for the smaller appetite. It has everything. A crispy flour tortilla with a light layer of refried beans, chicken or beef, with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, onions, olives, cheese, sour cream, and best of all, guacamole. Everything delicious in one place.
For the larger appetite, the carne asada platter or a burrito will do. Choose from a deluxe burrito, expreso burrito, signature burrito or super burrito. You can order two meals in one with the carne asada burrito. One of the diners in our group said the carne asada platter was to die for. We can only imagine how great the carne asada burrito is.
Enjoy the libations with multiple margaritas, tequilas, and beers.
When we arrived with four people at 5:15 pm, we were told the wait would be one hour. Fortunately, the two others in our group were not there yet. A good practice, they under-promised and over-delivered. Our wait was not that long and it was worth it. Despite the very busy restaurant our service was prompt and complete. We were just about to ask for flour tortillas after our food arrived, and as we turned to ask, there they were.
If you are not inclined to wait in line, order on-line instead. There are parking spaces reserved for those who are picking up their meals.
When you arrive at La Hacienda check out the chalk board for the daily specials. This might be a chance for you to experience some new Sonoran treat. An adventure in eating awaits.
