Water, Sewer Rates Could Increase Dramatically-28%

SBINSIDER EXCLUSIVE REPORTING| September 12th, 2025
At the Coffee with the GM, Vivian Timian related that JW Water, a company which recently acquired Lago Del Oro Water from Robson, has asked the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) to increase the current rates by 28%. If approved, the rate increase would take effect in late 2026. The company also plans to ask for a substantial increase in the rate for sewer. The filing also is going to be made by the company to the Arizona Corporate Commission.
The audience was not overly concerned, today. “JW Water is owned by a hedge fund out of England and their stated goal is to have a 20% ROI annually, said one resident, which means it is likely rates will continue upward much more rapidly.” Still, any rate increases have to approve by the 5 member board of ACC.

ACC Candidates in SaddleBrooke
Coincidentally, two candidates for the ACC board will be speaking at the October meeting of the SaddleBrooke GOP. To attend, you must be a member of the GOP club.
The Arizona Freedom Caucus unveiled two new Republican challengers for the Arizona Corporation Commission on Tuesday, setting up what could be one of the most fiery primaries in the state. Reps. David Marshall (R-7) and Dr. Ralph Heap (R-10) will challenge current Commissioners Kevin Thompson and Nick Myers, both Republican incumbents.
The election is scheduled for November, 2026.
