Pickleball double faults on court take over from Tennis
REPORTING BY SBINSIDER REPORTER CLARK KENT | November 23rd, 2024
At the 11/20 meeting of the HOA2 Board, Mike Dunbar, representing the SaddleBrooke Tennis Club addressed the board regarding a proposal that was made to a sub-committee to convert two tennis courts into pickleball courts. Expressing the objection of the entire Tennis Club membership to this proposal, Dunbar eloquently recited the history of the past 5 years wherein two Preserve courts were converted temporarily to pickleball courts as court expansion was undertaken at the main facility.
As Dunbar put it, “As a tennis club we would never try and convert another club’s amenity for the purposes of expanding tennis.” In reply, Matt Kambec, HOIA2 Board President, made it clear that at this point, the main board had not considered doing any conversion and unless it was in the master plan would never be. Kambec went on to say that the purpose of various sub-committees was to consider alternative ideas for the future benefit of the HOA but that was all this was, a proposal.
HOA2 Board Elections
The board elections resulted in the election of Jeannine Grippo, Sherri Grupe and Brad Nickum. Mark Mark Eckard the current Treasurer, was not re-elected.
