Original Sin Book Indicts Democratic Leadership

The book Original Sin by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson both long time experienced journalists has roiled and shaken the Democratic Party leadership to its core. According to the authors, by 2022 the inner core of advisors (known as the Politburo) realized that Biden’s ability to fully carry out the duties of the Presidency. But, in an overwhelming show of obsequy they closed ranks and began to limit Biden’s media appearances and hours in his work days. Despite their best efforts, most astute observers could plainly see that Biden had lost more than a step.

At times, Biden could appear capable such as his 2024 State of Union address where he bantered with Republicans over Social Security funding and cutting taxes for the “rich”, but outside of that appearance many others were near disasters as Biden wandered aimlessly or drifted off in meetings with world leaders.

In July 2024 after the Presidential debate the alarm bells went off from top to bottom in the Democratic Party. The Biden Politburo maintained that Biden had a “bad night” and he could still win. But, the Politburo refused to pass on the horrible polling data from his own staff which showed that he had a 5% chance of winning against Trump. It took a personal visit from Senator Chuck Schumer to Biden in his Delaware beach home to bring the bad news that Biden must step away or the entire House, Senate and other races would be lost across the country.

Biden dropped out on a Sunday and shortly thereafter endorsed Kamala Harris as his replacement. Many Democrats were outraged that the leaders did not hold an open primary so that other candidates would have a opportunity to challenge Harris who most viewed as a weak candidate. They argued that in the 2020 primary she only reached a 2% support before dropping out.

As it happened, Harris was the candidate and Biden made several significant gaffs in trying to support Harris in her effort. She was mediocre at best as candidate and lost the popular vote and all the swing states. It turns out that calling Trump the next Hitler and would end Democracy was not a strategy that most voters supported.

The question is will the mainstream media especially which covertly conspired with the Democrats to hide Biden’s degradation and the party leaders look in the mirror and recognize that there is a realignment in the voting base and that the voters no longer trust those old sources for worthwhile, unbiased information? Thew old saying, saying fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me still is valid.
