SBINSIDER NEWS | May 23rd, 2025
A series of brush fires south and west of Oracle, produced tremendous amounts of smoke caused evacuations and requests for help from local residents. SaddleBrooke residents responded generously. Several GOFUNDME accounts have been opened-one in particular was important for a family that lost their home. Anyone can help out with a donation by navigating to the GODFUNDME website and searching: Oracle AZ. According to HOA2 email, “over 48 residents have offered our staff homes, casitas, and rooms. We are happy to report that we do not need any further assistance at this time and that everyone is safe and sheltered. ”
The larger conflagration was named the Cody fire and a second fire started more south of Oracle, named the Bonito fire. The evacuation map is below:
The residents or Oracle were on alert to evacuate in case the winds picked up and drove the fire into the heart of Oracle. The following map is the footprint (in red) of the Cody fire’s extent as of May 23rd.
