La, La, La, La, loss Harris\Walz

SBINSIDER NEW\ANALYSIS | November 9th, 2024

While the elites in the media expected Kamal Harris to stomp Donald Trump into political history the results were an overwhelming victory for Trump. Especially disappointed were the left-leaning white women who expected that abortion would triumph over the everyday issues that affect the vast majority of voters. Inflation of about 20% over 4 years hit the lower and middle class voters very hard. Going to the grocery store is exasperating. Insurance and absolute necessities are at record levels.

The asset owning class have done well thanks to inflation. Homeowners and people with stock portfolios have done very well. But that is not the majority of voters, especially among the under 40 crowd. Recently the NAR published the average age of a 1st time homebuyer to an all-time high of 38, while at the same, time rents have increased to cover inflation too. A real squeeze.

So, it was no surprise when many of this age group decided that the Trump years were a better time for them and voted to put him back into office and gave him a Senate and perhaps, a GOP House.

The only group that increased for Harris was white college educated women.

Perhaps the coup that installed Harris in place of a severely compromised Joe Biden turned off many marginal voters who looked askance at how the Democrats replaces their nominees. Even a shortened primary or a convention vote would have added a layer of legitimacy to the process. Instead, Biden cleverly forced her as the only choice, likely hoping she would lose, so for the rest of his life he could say “I told you so”. We suspect Jill Biden is smirking over Harris’ loss, too. Too, Trump never strayed from is unusual style of politicking and despite, lawfare, impeachments and all the rest, he triumphed.

Trump is one of two Presidents who won, lost and then won again. The other was Democrat Grover Cleveland.

Arizona

As predicted by SBINSIDER, Kari Lake lost. She underperformed Donald Trump by over 200,00 votes at last count which will likely not be final until Monday the 11th. Until that time we will not know who won CD6 which is held by Juan Ciscomani. The day after the election Engle was ahead but with 1.5 million votes left to count statewide, Ciscomani had inched to a lead of about 1,800 votes on Saturday.
