Senate Candidate Kari Lake Wins the Crowd in SaddleBrooke
VIA SBINSIDER REPORTING| October 1st, 2024
Kari Lake, the GOP nominee for US Senate visited SaddleBrooke Friday, October 4th. The event was held at the Mtn. View Ballroom and underwritten by Patrick and Petra Doherty, the owners of Tucson Windows and Doors. Scheduled for 4pm start time, Lake, as is true with all candidates running in statewide contests traveling by car, ran late to the meeting and arrived about 4:45PM.
The event was attended by about 200 plus stalwart Republicans from Oro Valley, Oracle, SaddleBrooke Ranch and SaddleBrooke. Once upon the stage, she entranced and won over the audience. Many HOA2 residents who happened by in the hallway were compelled to stop and stand by the open door to her presentation. What everyone heard was an adept handling of extensive and in-depth questions from the audience and her knowledgeable responses. She also touched on the problems in Maricopa County voting in 2022 and expressed her admonition that all voters need to be vigilant in November.
Despite the late start, the audience had a chance to imbibe on delightful snacks and an open bar. Her campaign reportedly collected a large number of donations.
This was Lake’s first appearance in SaddleBrooke during this election cycle. She was challenged by Pinal’s own Sheriff Mark Lamb in the primary, winning handily.
Before she spoke, emcee Douglas Wolf, the re-elected Pinal County Assessor and resident of SaddleBrooke HOA1, reminded the audience of early ballots dropping into the mail Wednesday, October 9th and that the Pinal County voter van will be here to take those ballots October 24th from 9-1PM. The van will be parked at the Mt. View parking lot.
Also speaking was former State Senator Vince Leach, now running again for State Senate in LD-17.
Lake lost a close race for Governor to Katie Hobbs in 2022 and still is pursuing avenues to legally challenge the voting results.
Is the van a secure place to deposit our ballots??? I worry about shenanigans
It is the Pinal County owned and operated van, so yes.
