Javalenia Fenced Off from Silverwood Unit1

SBINSIDER REPORTING| July 12, 2025
Residents of Unit 1 (AKA the Historic District) in the Silverwood\Idlewind area have been plagued by nearly daily, multiple Javelina poop deposits near the intersection of Silverwood and Ildewind streets. The HOA1 crews have striven mightily with the messes and generally get it removed before noon. However, the Javelina like most animals, were habituated to returning to the same place and messing up the same spot on the street.

After several years of this recurring problem, the HOA1 management decided to install a short wrought iron fence joining the rear walls of two homes. The fence is unobtrusive and blocks the easy access the Javalenia have enjoyed to the Unit 1 streets. Other animals such as deer will find the fence as an easy obstacle to step over.
It remains to be seen if the Javalenia accept that they need to do their business in the canyon not in the street.
SBINSIDER attempted to contact the Javalenia Club leadership for a comment, but were unable to translate the message.
I hope people are not feeding them, it is against State law. They are over populating the region and are becoming traffic hazards on Acacia and Lago del Oro.
I believe that this is located in Unit 3N – not Unit 1 …. and we are very grateful! Thank you HOA1 Management ….
This little fence has made a huge improvement in our neighborhood. Thanks!!!
