Supervisor McClure Reviews the State of the County

Jeffrey McClure, our District 4 County Supervisor on the Pinal County Board of Supervisors, and its Vice Chairman, hosted a State of the County event in SaddleBrooke. Multiple representatives of Pinal County from roads to water presented at the meeting. The best news for those living in SaddleBrooke is that the primary property tax rate was 3.75 and has been reduced to 3.45. The county has focused on bringing in business, not only for opportunities, but for distributing the tax burden between business and residential housing. Some of the businesses that have been brought into Pinal County are Lucid, LG, Gold Bond, BHL Trucking, Proctor and Gamble, and Kohler.

Focusing on employee retention has been another drive of the county supervisors. Voluntary turnover is down 33% in Pinal County. The total number of employees is up 8%.

Many of you have noticed the new road into SaddleBrooke with the expanded bike lanes. Joe Ortiz manages the Public Works and Community Development for Pinal County. There is a little more to do after adding the new roads. Some debris leftover from the construction will have to be removed.

More indications of growth in Pinal County include 4,311 single family residential permits and 162 new commercial sites. Freddy Rios provided a water overview, mostly focused on Falcon Valley water, which supplies SaddleBrooke Ranch.  Falcon Valley Water employs 261 people and provides water to more than 300,000 people.

Newly elected Sheriff Ross Teeple presented on the safest large county in Arizona with 249 sworn deputies. Deputies also provide local border support, and re-entry programs for non-violent offenders. Dana Lewis our County Recorder, spoke at this event and will also be a guest speaker for the SaddleBrooke Republican Club on Wednesday March 12, 2025.
