Mt. View Golf Course closed for major upgrade

VIA SBINSIDER| April 21. 2023

Help kick off the Mountain View golf renovation by attending the groundbreaking ceremony at MV putting green, 10:00 AM on Monday May 1, 2023. The 28-year-old golf course is getting more than a face-lift and will be under construction, starting May 1, 2023. The plan is for the course to be closed for six months.

During the major renovation, the Mesquite Grill will also be closed. The Preserve will host a breakfast buffet, starting May 1 during construction.  Along with food service there will be dual tee times at the Preserve course at 7:00 AM.

This $5.7 M project will redesign and upgrade the entire course. The course improvements are designed by Architect Mike Gogel.  Desert Reflections manages the contract and Marvin Mills is the irrigation consultant.

At the presentation at Desert View Theater on Wednesday April 19, Director of Golf Course Maintenance, Paul Hallock, provided a comprehensive list of improvements planned for the course.

Mountain View golf course will enter the 21st century being a steward of the environment by managing water on the course with new technology, such as new irrigation systems, weather stations, pump stations, Pogo Turf Pro, and GPS enabled sprayers.

Here is what you can expect to see after the six-month renovation:

  • New fleet of golf carts
  • New and improved Rainbird irrigation
  • Drainage Repairs
  • New redesigned tees
  • New bunkers – reshaped
  • Turf reductions  (not in the fairway)
  • New cart paths
  • New nursery for sod

Starting July 10 to  July 31, you can expect the Preserve course to be closed for 3 weeks of summer maintenance, including aerification, tree work, sodding, cart path repair, and irrigation audit.
